I currently offer counselling in Masham and Harrogate.

In addition to my private practise, I currently work at a GP surgery, and have experience of a wide range of issues as well as long and short term counselling.

I work on the basis that the relationship between client and counsellor is all-important.   Counselling is a collaborative process and we work together for you to make progress.  At our first meeting we will discuss what you hope to achieve from counselling and work out the way forward for you together.

I am an integrative counsellor, and draw on humanistic and psychodynamic principles.  Sometimes for people who've not been to counselling before, the impression might be that it's 'just listening'...  Well, there is a lot of listening involved but it's also about being gently challenged to see things a different way, gain new insights and find a way to move forward.

Anything we discuss is, of course, completely confidential, and I adhere to a strict code of ethics set out by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). 

I hold a Certificate in Counselling (Distinction), a Graduate Diploma in Counselling (Distinction) and am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
